This eclectic sounding instrumental album merging classical,jazz and metal influences is the first release by The Fractured Dimension trio.Jimmy Pitts (piano & keyboards), Jerry Twyford (5,6 strong bass) and AlexArellano (drums & percussion) created here an album that is a homage tocomposer Alexander Scriabin and named after his uncompleted final creationMysterium (hence the name of this album).

Germany’s Kreator are a thrash metal institution, plain and simple. Since originally forming in 1984, the band has weathered every conceivable musical trend, and although some albums in the quartet’s discography are markedly better than others, Kreator have stood the test of time, becoming something of a legendary band in the process. And while many bands who’ve managed such longevity and stature would be content to coast on their reputations for the latter part of their careers, Kreator show absolutely no signs of slowing down or losing their edge on Hordes of Chaos.
Well, it’s that time of year when all the big music rags and websites reflect on another year come and gone. So without further ado, I present a rundown of what were in my opinion the best metal records of 2008, along with some other random nonsense. Please bear in mind that these are only my own opinions, I in no way represent the other fine folks here at Sonic Frontiers.
